Feedback June 2013

FMPLogo2-smallThis is just a quick and dirty episode where we respond to all the feedback we’ve gotten in the last few months but weren’t able to respond to directly in the show. We actually release episodes out of order of when we record them, so we have to record feedback seperately later on. Consider this a special anniversary episode edition as well. We sort of missed our 50th Golden anniversary last episode. Oops? Happy 4th Birthday Fantasy Movie Podcast? A real episode is on its way. In fact, we have several recorded! Leave us some feedback on what show you want edited next.

  1. Sorry for not leaving any feedback on the last two episodes, but since they were about shows I never watched, I only listed to the beginning.

As for Netflix and Hulu, we don’t have those here and the versions we do have are kinda crap (too expensive and way too little selection).

Anyway, glad to see that you’re back and have another suggestion for an episode: how about the book The Magicians by Lev Grossman? It’s being advertised as Harry Potter for adults and I would really like to hear your opinion on it.

    • The next episode coming up will be about the Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke. I hope that’s one that you have watched? I hope I can get it edited this weekend. I’ve been working 50 hour weeks and its hard to get podcast editing time in. I had time last weekend, but I was exhausted.

I’ve never read that book. I’ll have to see if there’s an audio version that I can listen to at work. If so I’ll definitely listen to it at work after I finish the Liveship Trader Trilogy (awesome book series by the way). Maybe we should do a fantasy book recommendation sometime? Melanie’s a bit more well read then me in that area.

  2. Hey, thanks for reading my feedback. ^_^

Asserting that story is ever a tertiary concern was kind of a stretch, I know, but I still think that (although it IS important) JUST for Miyazaki’s films, the music and visuals should be considered equally along with the story. I was just expressing the wish that you guys had talked a little more about those aspects of the film, since they’re really what bump it up to my favorite Miyazaki film.
However, I consider Mononoke and Spirited Away to be highly overrated and I really don’t enjoy those movies at all (despite Mononoke having the best soundtrack). So perhaps I should simply get used to being in the minority when it comes to Miyazaki. 😀

And yes…. yes, I knew those Ninja Turtle lines by heart. *shame*

Hey, Melaniiiiieeeee! If you like Final Fantasy, why not do an Advent Children podcast?? Pleeeeeeease please please please?

Anyways, thanks for reading my stupid posts, guys, I feel….. embarrassed, but special.

So, yes, my two requests for you guys would be:
    Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
    Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Keep up the great work, you two.
